Your GLO speaker carries an IP67 rating. This article explains what that protection covers and what it does not.
What IP67 covers
The IP67 rating means GLO is:
- Dust-tight: fully protected against dust and solid particles entering the speaker.
- Water-resistant against fresh water immersion to a depth of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
This means GLO can handle rain, splashes, poolside drips, and accidental drops in a sink or puddle, provided the immersion is brief and shallow.
What IP67 does not cover
The IP67 rating does not protect against:
- Saltwater or seawater: salt accelerates corrosion and can damage seals. Rinse the speaker with fresh water if exposed to salt water and dry it fully.
- Pool or chlorinated water: chemicals can degrade the seals over time.
- Immersion deeper than 1 meter.
- Immersion lasting longer than 30 minutes.
- High-pressure water jets.
- Physical impact or drops: IP67 is a water and dust rating only, not drop protection.
Care reminders
- Do not press buttons while the speaker is submerged in water.
- Dry the speaker and the USB-C port fully before charging after any water exposure. See Cleaning GLO after the beach or pool for drying instructions.
- Check the port area for moisture before connecting a cable.
