What IP67 covers (and what it does not)

Your GLO speaker carries an IP67 rating. This article explains what that protection covers and what it does not.

What IP67 covers

The IP67 rating means GLO is:

  • Dust-tight: fully protected against dust and solid particles entering the speaker.
  • Water-resistant against fresh water immersion to a depth of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.

This means GLO can handle rain, splashes, poolside drips, and accidental drops in a sink or puddle, provided the immersion is brief and shallow.

What IP67 does not cover

The IP67 rating does not protect against:

  • Saltwater or seawater: salt accelerates corrosion and can damage seals. Rinse the speaker with fresh water if exposed to salt water and dry it fully.
  • Pool or chlorinated water: chemicals can degrade the seals over time.
  • Immersion deeper than 1 meter.
  • Immersion lasting longer than 30 minutes.
  • High-pressure water jets.
  • Physical impact or drops: IP67 is a water and dust rating only, not drop protection.

Care reminders

  • Do not press buttons while the speaker is submerged in water.
  • Dry the speaker and the USB-C port fully before charging after any water exposure. See Cleaning GLO after the beach or pool for drying instructions.
  • Check the port area for moisture before connecting a cable.
